6 Benefits of Regular Journaling

Journaling, writing and recording our thoughts, feelings and experiences.





A great habit to develop our creativity, our mindfulness and self-development. When I struggle with a situation, I find as I write my thoughts, I become more aware of what's going on, and what emotions are driving my thinking and behavior. Then I can self-regulate!

Change and grow!


Journaling is a written account of your thoughts and feelings as you navigate everyday life. The beauty of journaling is that there's no right or wrong way to do it. It's a deeply personal experience that can take many forms.

1. Less Mind Clutter


Do you feel like your brain is in serious overdrive? A stream of clutter slowly turning your mental space into a chaotic mess? If the answer is yes, it means that your mind is frantically waving a red flag, begging you to free up some headspace.


2. Get more Clarity


Simply giving voice to emotions and problems can help defuse their power and allow you to improve your mental health in the process.


3. More Self Awareness


Self-awareness is seen as one of the greatest and most beneficial character traits. People who are self-aware are not only better equipped to deal with the ups and downs of life, but also the mental struggles of others and themselves.


4. Learn what is keeping you back


You know exactly what you want in life. But you can’t seem to get there. You have all these resolves.

You’re going to get healthy. You’re going to write that book. You’re going to be more present.

But the problem is: Doing these is really hard. And it gets harder every day. Some days, it seems more realistic to just give up entirely. The whole taking one step forward and one or two steps backward pattern is getting old.


5. Track your progress and growth


By keeping a journal you are able to look at your entries from months back and see the progress you have made, mentally, physically and spiritually. Use tools like mood trackers to get an accurate representation of your feelings.


6. Improve writing skills


By journaling regularly, young writers can develop their writing skills and demystify the process through practice. Journaling allows you to explore new ideas. Another benefit of journal writing is having a place to formulate and record ideas for other pieces of writing. It's also a venue for problem-solving.
